Role and Responsibilities

The Billing Coordinator will gather data, calculate charges and fees, and create invoices for billing purposes.

  • Prepare insurance claims with required documents and submit medical and dental insurance claims within OMSVision
  • Serve as liaison between insurance providers, staff, and patient regarding payments, approvals, eligibility, etc.
  • Works with various insurance company guidelines to navigate their processes in an effort to achieve consistent outcomes
  • Provide exceptional customer service while interacting with staff, insurance providers, and patient over the phone, in person or via electronic communication
  • Successfully work individually and/or in a team environment
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Adhere to deadlines and prioritize work against the patient schedule
  • Ability to stay well organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information in accordance with HIPAA
  • Able to read and interpret Explanation of Benefits

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Associates degree or vocational school training preferred
  • Minimum 1+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of medical and dental terminology
  • Knowledge of medical and dental insurance benefits
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Dental Practice Management Software Medical / Dental coding knowledge
